Solar energy use in USA

Solar energy is an energy which comes from the sun. It could be used by controlling the light which comes from it then convert it to energy. After that restore it and use it.

The solar energy has some disadvantages and one of the most important disadvantages is that it needs a very wide open area and a huge number of solar panels because it produces low energy. Another disadvantage is that it doesn’t work in everywhere. The places which are suitable for the solar energy are where there is lots of sunlight. For example the cold areas can not use the solar energy.

However, although there are many disadvantages in using the solar energy, there are a lot of advantages on it. The most important thing is that the sunlight never dries unless if the sun died which means unlimited cheap source of energy. Another important advantage is that it is very friendly to the environment. In addition it can be used in many ways and it is easy to plug in any machine or device.

U.S is one of the countries who are trying to use and develop the solar energy. Although the largest available energy source in the U.S is the solar energy the percentage of using it for the electricity generation is 1%.

Cool City movie

The short movie was about the problems that we have because of the co2 which we produce when we drive our car or build houses. It also contains a solution of the problem which is to build a city without carbon. In fact the main idea of the movie is a description of a new project which is a clean city without pollution. It describes the city which is divided to five areas. It also made clear that even the transportation facilities is friendly to the environment. The city has a radius of one kilometer which makes it one of the smallest cities in the world.






Opinion:


I think that it is impossible to build such a city because we can not live without producing waste and carbon. Even if we gave up on civilization and lived in the forest in the simplest form of lifestyle we would be producing co2. For example we need to cook we need heat and clean water. It is impossible for the mankind to live without these basic needs which we have to produce co2 if we want to produce them. If the 21st century technology can reduce the carbon footprint to 50% then it would be great.

The global warming red alert !!!

The former United States vice president Mr.Algore explained to us in the doc film about one of the most dangerous issues that threatening our planet and destroying the environment which is "Global Warming".
He talked about the climate change and what can it cause, he mentioned many important things in the film. One of the things he mentioned is the nature when he showed the river in the beginning of the film. The most important issue was the problems causes by the global warming. One of the examples he gave is the ice melting all over the world which cause the sea level about 20 feet which could lead to a big disaster for the coastal areas in the begging of course then for the whole planet and we may not be able to recover after this because more than 70% of the earth is water therefore we cant make the water disappear and it might be the end of the world.


Also it has very bad effect on the sea wild life and the cold area animals like the penguin and the white bear because of the hot climate which they can't live with. Therefore it might be extinction for the cold area wild life.










The documentary film shows that the man kind is the responsible of the global warming. For example producing energy means that we are polluting the environment. And when we are using our automobiles we are polluting the air with the CO2. And the factories are damaging the air, the land and the water too because they throw their leavings in the rivers and bury it in the land in some parts of the world. So we are killing the environment to have a better lifestyle!. In the end he offered some solutions which can help solving the global warming issue.

Critical thinking is the ability of the thinkers to charge of their own thinking. This requires a high level of processing, analyzing, evaluating the possible outcomes, creating new ideas, and reflection. The critical thinkers are the people who are willing to examine everything they face. For example, they are examining their beliefs, assumptions, and opinions. As well, they are ready and open to change and this is reflected in evaluating stereotypes they have created.




Actually, everybody can use critical thinking in their lives and many occupations require critical thinking such as: doctors, athletic coaches, teachers, lawyers, and Judges.
To be a critical thinker, you have to adopt certain habits and behaviors to qualify you to think critically. Listening carefully to people, gathering all the relevant facts, giving feedback, and finally making assertions based on sound logic and solid evidence. Furthermore, you must be interested in knowing all there is about a topic. Therefore, asking pertinent questions, developing a sense of observation and curiosity, sharing ideas with others, becoming an open-minded listener and reader will play a great role in getting logical outcomes.
In my opinion it is important to be critical thinkers. We have to be critical thinkers to develop our countries and to be professionals in our jobs. As I said " I am not a parrot" so I am not going to copy other people.
